The first week on a client portal

WhizSuite · 2026-09-20

A kickoff demo with no file to approve will be forgotten by the time the first real post exists.

Prepare one honest post

Choose a low-risk post that is actually going to publish. Walk the approver through that post only. Save the grand tour for never.

Make sure the notification reaches them before the call, so you can fix spam filters while you are still on the line.

Decide the roles in the room

Who at the client will log in, who may say yes, and who only needs a CC. Create those seats before the call. Inviting "the team" to figure it out later means nobody owns the queue.

Write the silence rule and the round count in the same meeting, then put them where the posts live.

Leave them with a waiting item

End the week with one item in their queue and a due time. An empty portal teaches nothing. A queue of twenty teaches them to flee.

Tell them what you will do if the due time passes. No surprises in week two.

Ask what felt clumsy

One question after the first yes: what almost made you reply in chat instead. Fix that thing. Do not add three features because the demo felt thin.

Then stop onboarding and start the month. Endless onboarding is a way to delay real work.
