Hashtags after the idea

WhizSuite · 2026-07-22

Tags are distribution garnish. They are not the idea.

Earn the sentence first

If the caption does not make sense without the tags, rewrite the caption. Readers should understand the post in the first lines.

A block of thirty tags under a thin sentence looks desperate and dates quickly.

Pick a few on purpose

One brand tag, one that a real community uses, and maybe one for the specific offer. Look at whether people actually browse that tag or whether it is junk. Junk tags train you to ignore your own caption field.

Banned or hijacked tags exist. Glance before you standardize one.

Do not copy the same set forever

A default tag blob pasted on every post is how you attach a summer campaign tag to a winter post. Build the tags with the post, or keep a very small evergreen set and review it quarterly.

Put the evergreen set on the voice note so it is a decision, not a habit from 2022.

Accessibility and tags

Do not stuff tags into alt text. Alt text describes the image. Tags, if you use them, stay in the caption where a sighted skimmer expects noise.

If the brand hates tags, use none. Absence can be the voice.
