Holiday weeks need a smaller plan

WhizSuite · 2026-10-11

Plan the quiet week in advance, with posts that were locked before anyone left.

Shrink the promise

Agree the reduced count a month ahead. A holiday week with the usual volume depends on people answering email from a kitchen. Some will. Do not build the retainer on that hope.

Write which days you will not post. Silence on a public holiday can be the brand being a person.

Lock before they leave

Anything that must go out while the approver is away gets a yes the week before. No fresh claims during the closure unless you have a named deputy.

Put the deputy in the calendar, with a phone number that more than one staff member holds. A deputy who only exists in your chat is a single point of failure on a beach.

Evergreen, not leftovers

Use posts that are still true if the sale ended. Check end dates twice. The classic error is a "this week only" line that publishes after the week.

Kill the row if you are unsure. A skipped holiday post is forgettable. A wrong offer on a holiday is not.

Staff the desk you promised

If the feed stays up, someone still watches comments. Say whether community management sleeps too. A live post with nobody behind the inbox is a choice, and it should be written down.

When the office reopens, look at what went out before you add new work. Do not assume the queue behaved.
