Negative comments and the client

A bad comment is a decision: reply, escalate, hide, or leave it. Make the decision on purpose.
Agree the default
Many brands reply once, calmly, and move on. Some hide abuse and keep substantive criticism visible. Write the default before you need it. In the moment, people either over-delete or freeze.
Legal threats and safety issues are not the default path. Those escalate immediately.
Tell the client about patterns
One grumpy comment does not need a phone call. A pile of the same complaint does. Define "pile" with a number so the owner knows when to wake the account manager.
Bring the pattern with examples, not with a mood. "Five people cannot find the return link" is actionable. "They hate us" is not.
Replies without promises
Do not promise refunds, timelines, or fixes you cannot make. Say you have passed it on, if you have. A kind lie in public becomes the policy.
Keep the reply short. Long arguments feed the thread.
Keep a record
Screenshot or export the thread if it might matter later. Platforms eat context. Your note should include the date, the post, and what you did.
Store it on the client, not in a personal camera roll.
