Brand kits people actually open
WhizSuite · 2026-08-01
Designers open what helps them export. Give them that, and put it where the brief already is.
The useful minimum
Logo files that are actually current, colors with contrast that works on a phone, type, crop examples for the formats you post, and a handful of do-nots. If a file is outdated, delete it. Old logos multiply.
Name the files in human language. "Primary logo, dark background" beats a code only the brand studio understands.
Examples over rules
One correct feed tile and one incorrect tile teach faster than a paragraph about clear space. Annotate the incorrect one with a single line.
Include a caption example. Visual kits that ignore words create a split brand.
Put it in the client room
The kit sits with the client's other files, where a freelancer can see it and a stranger cannot. A public link to the entire kit is sloppy.
Link it from the brief template so nobody has to remember the path.
Review it when the brand drifts
A rebrand, a new product color, a retired tagline. Update the kit the same week. A kickoff kit from last year will silently produce last year's brand.
Ask the designer once a quarter if they are using a file that is not in the kit. Those files belong in the kit or in the bin.
