Friday handoff for a client
WhizSuite · 2026-09-10
Weekends go wrong when Friday's note says "all good" and one post is not.
Three lines, no novel
What is locked, what is with the client, and what is blocked. Link the rows. A paragraph of context without links makes the next person reconstruct your week from memory.
Name the post that must not go out, and why. A ban buried in a cheerful recap will be missed.
Who is actually covering
Write the name. "The team" is not on call. If nobody is on call, say the account is quiet until Monday and stick to it.
Share the path to the approver only if the cover person is allowed to use it. A private phone number in a shared doc outlives the reason you shared it.
Files in the library
Exports on a desktop are not handed off. Put the locked file where the scheduler already looks. If the cover person has to ask you for the file, you are still working.
Check the scheduled time and zone once. Friday mistakes love a wrong zone.
Read it back
The cover person repeats the one risk. If they cannot, the note failed. This takes two minutes and replaces a Sunday call.
Then stop adding "one more thing" in chat after the handoff. That one more thing is how the note becomes stale before dinner.
